GPIB PCIe driver dissappears once a WLAN device is detected

I'm from Intel Penang Malaysia. I'm developping my WiMAX test solution using NI GPIB PCIe card. For some reason my PC detects GPIB PCIe card (x16 slot) if its by itself. The moment i plug my WLAN PCIe device in another x1slot, the GPIB driver dissappears.
Need some technical support on what could hv gone wrong.

Hi intel.com,

When you say that the GPIB driver disappears, what exactly do you mean? Do you not see it in MAX anymore? Can you see it in the Device Manager?

This could be an IRQ conflict issue. To verify this, check to see what the IRQ assigned to the PCIe-GPIB device is, and then check what the IRQ assigned to the WLAN PCIe device is.

1) Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
2) Find National Instruments GPIB Interfaces and select your GPIB device
3) Right click on the GPIB device and go to Properties > Resources
4) Note what the IRQ setting is
5) Plug in the WLAN PCIe device and find the device in the Device Manager, and take note of the IRQ

If the IRQ settings are the same (if the same IRQ number is assigned to both cards) then you have an IRQ conflict. There is a KnowledgeBase article that discusses this here.

If the IRQ settings are different, then there might be an issue with your PCIe bus. I would advise that you update your BIOS to the latest versions and seeing if the issue still remains.

Let us know how that goes!

Hi Sir:

Yes - the device is no longer seen in Device Manager. Its not an interrupt IRQ issue as i've checked and both of them has a different IRQ.

I believe it might be a BIOS issue. Appreciate your time and advise.

Thank you very much.
