Hello everybody ,

I have a problem with my measurement instrument: When i send * IDN? No problem the instrument answer ( i can read the name of the instrument )  but when i sends  other SCPI commands to the instrument dont answer and i have an error out.

I use an GPIB -USB-HS to control the instrument.

If there is a manufacturer supplied example, please try that to establish control. The issue could be with GPIB termination character or the Instrument is locked to be used only in local mode (using front panel). Also, please check if the instrument has any switches to enable remote control (over GPIB). Specifying the instrument model will help us guide you better.

 

Good thing that it replies to IDN query is that the instrument address and connections are correct.
