Hi,
The manual for the GPIB-VXI/C board describes a procedure for configuring the board to use multiple primary addresses. In this mode, the GPIB-VXI assigns primary GPIB addresses to the message based servants in the VXI chassis. Does anyone know of an issue when using VISA to communicate with the VXI boards through a GPIB-VXI/C that is configured to use multiple primary addresses?
Thank you,

Hey dan,
When you use NI-VISA to communicate with your VXI boards through GPIB-VXI/C, you reference the board by its logical address, and not the primary/secondary address like you would with NI-488.2 (as referenced in KnowledgeBase 3YG82O5N : Converting a GPIB-VXI/C Program Using NI-488 Function Calls to NI-VISA). So the issue of multiple primary addresses shouldn't be any concern, since you're bypassing the GPIB's addressing altogether and letting the NI-VISA functions handle it.
