GPIB controller connection problem

I'm trying to connect a HP E8361A Network Analyzer to my computer through a Prologix GPIB-USB controller. Apparently there is a problem with the connection between the Prologix controller itself and the network analyzer. They do not recognize each other, and I don't know why.

I've checked with HyperTerminal, and I'm able to talk to the Prologix controller itself (by finding out it's version), so the connection between the controller and the computer is fine. However, through HyperTerminal I can't access or read any data from the network analyzer, so I'm assuming the problem lies between the connection of the controller and the network analyzer.

Ultimately, I'm trying to use LabVIEW to read data from the network analyzer.

Please help! I'm new to all of this and I feel totally lost...

What kind of recognition are you expecting? The Prologix is not the same thing as NI/Agilent USB-GPIB devices. It's more like a RS232-GPIB converter so you need to take extra steps in using it and heavily modify any instrument driver you might be using. Have you searched the forum for 'Prologix' or looked at the examples on their site?

Since the problem seems to be with the connection between the Prologix and the instrument (nothing at all to do with any NI hardwarw or software), you should be in touch with their tech support.
