Hello all,

I am working on reading an osciloscope using a gpib ENET 100.  The GPIB is just flashing orange, in network mode, and when I search for it using the explorer it doesn't show.  Any directions on where I am messing it up would be appreciated.  This is going to be reading the gradient field readouts of a vert bore research mri machine.

Hi James,

I have attached a link to a manual that will help get you started in configuring your GPIB-ENET/100 for your Mac.  Chapter 3 in this manual goes more in depth on how to configure the network paramters of the device manually while in Network mode so that you can communicate with it if you are not using DHCP.  I hope this helps, James!  Have a great day!

When I open up the ethernet config tool the gpib doesn't even show up.  The gpib is connected to the mac using an ethernet cable, does it need to be connected to a router and given a static IP?

Hi James,

If you are connecting your GPIB-ENET/100 directly to your computer, be sure to use a crossover ethernet cable.  I have attached a link to a KnowledgeBase article that explains the difference between a crossover cable and a straight through cable.  This article should also help you determine if you are currently using the correct cable if you are unsure as to what type you have.  Please let me know if this helps!  Have a great day!
