GPIB reads lock up application until after I/O compltes?

I am headed back in to that secure facility again tomorow AM.
 
Please check with Matt re: what I will need to help you fix this bug with LV.
 
Unfortuanately the example you posted is just too simple to properly demo the problem. At the very least the data transfer from the device should take a second or more to complete AND there should be an event structure where the time out (use 300 ms) should update a chart with dummy data and use a waveform data type where the T0 value is the current system time.
 
You will know you have recreated this bug if the points on the chart are roughly 3/second when the GPIB I/O is not happening, and then the graph will "freeze-up" while the GPIB operation is going on.
 
It has all of the "look and feel" of LV running in a single thread.
