I am trying to talk to a Gw INSTEK AFG-2005.
I downloaded and installed the driver and labview code from
The device is not visible in max although it is visible in windows device manager.
The labview code from gwinstek is not working for me (COM4).
(-1073807202 VISA Open in GW AFG2000 Initialize.vi)
I can talk to the device via teraterm but using exactly the same settings (teraterm close etc) I cannot even configure the serial port without it failing as follows:
code: -1073807202
source : Property Node (arg 1) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->talk to arb.vi
Any ideas why teraterm is working and labview is failing?

HI Albert,
Thanks for the feedback.
My problem is MAX does not see the device. I can't even configure the serial port, never mind send a message.

I moved to a different laptop and the device was visible straight away.
I have been having issues with my laptop where I have to manually start NI Configuration Manager and perhaps this problem is related.....
I don't know how to fix my laptop, lost a lot of time. It's a fix but not a great fix, get a new PC...

Try to reinstall NI Max.

The FG is in another country but it's not a bad idea.
Should I go into products and repair? There is no MAX product in the list....
Also, this service not starting has been a problem for a while but I could work around it. I have already installed LabVIEW 2017 beta without any improvement in the situation.
