How Do I Install and Uninstall the GPIB Driver on

When I use GPIB as interface, I meet the problem "GPIB-32.DLL is either missing or  damaged."  In order to solve the problem, I need to uninstall all GPIB software, including NI-488.2 and reinstall NI-488.2. How can I do that. Thanks

Go to Add/Remove Programs>National Instruments Software.

I'm assuming you're using Windows. If that is the case, here's a KnowledgeBase with further details on how to uninstall NI software.

How Do I Uninstall or Repair NI Software?

One more suggestion. Can you find your gpib-32.dll file, if it still exists. It should be located under the system directory "C:\Windows\system32" (for 32-bit systems). From there, right-click on the file and select properties. In the properties you can go to version»company or digital signature and it should display a company name. I would be curious to see who made the dll. If another dll with the same name got copied over this one it may give you the same error that you are receiving.

The problem is solved and this is because I install HPIB and GPIB at the same time. Other question is how can I install HPIB and GPIB at the same time?

Take a look at this KnowledgeBase "Can I Use Both National Instruments (GPIB) and Agilent/HP (HPIB) Controllers in the Same System?" on how to use a HPIB and a GPIB device at the same time.

Thanks. I did, but I can't use the HPIB. IN fact I want to use labview to control Agilent N9310A and SR830 DSP Lock-in amplifier.  The Agilent M9310A which need Agilent IO Libraries Suite to work and SR830 use GPIB. So is it possible I do not need to install Agilent IO Libraries suits and I can control N9310A with the labview. If it is work and how to do it?

The N9310A is an instrument and does not require the I/O Libraries. Where did you get the impression that they were required?

If you are going to use an NI controller with LabVIEW, uninstall all Agilent software and then install NI-GPIB and NI-VISA.

If you are going to use an Agilent controller with LabVIEW, then install the Agilent software, NI-VISA, and enable tulip support in MAX.

If you have code that uses the low level LabVIEW GPIB functions, you will have to rewrite it to use VISA or use an NI GPIB controller.

You mean I can connect N9310A to computer with USB cable, then I can use Labview to control the N9610A. I did that. When I refresh VISA resource name and I can't find it and the running become slow. How to deal with that. Thanks

I don't know. You have not said the type of controller or what software you have installed or uninstalled.
