Whenever you get an instrument, the first thing to do is to check the Instrument Driver Network to see if a driver already exists. For the 3852, there is one here. In LabVIEW, under the tools menu is Instrumentation>Find Instrument Drivers. You could also have used this to find it yourself.

How are you trying to "see or communicate" with your device? What is the result of a Scan For Instruments in MAX?
You also want to verify that your termination settings in MAX match those of your instrument. Check this KnowledgeBase for some tips.
