Hi, I'm trying to communicate an instrumentation device to my laptop via a USB to serial (rs232) converter. I'm attempting to use the loopback.vi for testing the serial port functionality but without success. How can I make LabView recognize my converter as if it were a serial port and thus read the data from the instrument?
If you install the driver for the device and windows recognizes the device as a com port, open MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) and verify that it is listed there. If it's in MAX, then LabVIEW can use it.
