How to communicate using Sealevel Serial server

I've installed the drivers for a Sealevel systems Inc. Ethernet based serial server P/N4101.  When I set up the LabView serial communication example to the correct com port for the server, and send data in loopback, I get some info about the serial server in the serial string returned.  This only seems to occur when I send new data.  If I resend the same string I only get the info I sent.  Has anyone encountered this? Thanks in advance!

Can you post a screenshot of what is happening? An NI-Spy capture would also be helpful. Also, does it behave the same way in HyperTerminal?
