Hi,
I want to convert the 25 pin parallel port in to a 25 pin serial port. I have searched in the web for converters and i found only the 25 pin parallel to 9 pin serial port conveters. Please suggest me where can i find the product i need or else suggest me how can i build my own converter?

varma,
25 pin rs-232 connector only has 9 active signals. The same 9 signals found on a 9 pin connector. There are many 9 - 25 pin converters commercially available. See this document for the pinout of the 9 & 25 pin. http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371253b.pdf

Wayne,
Thank you very much for your response.
My application is using 12 signal among the 25 that DB25 RS232 has. It is communcating using the secondary data lines along with primary 9 active lines. So i cannot take only 9 active signals and neglect the other signals. So the 9 to 25 converter might not work for my case. So i need to employ the DB25 serial to DB25 parallel conversion.
Please provide your suggestions on this.

varma,
Sorry, I forgot about the modem functionality included in the 25pin serial. I have seen converters that go from 25pin parallel to 25 pin serial. Most are targeted at serial printers. Not sure if they would meet your needs. http://www.blackbox.com/Store/Results.aspx/Networking/Media-Converters/Parallel/n-4294963414/p-0
