fluke 29x

Hello,

I've been trying to connect a fluke 294 waveform generator to LabVIEW. I'm trying to use a USB device connection and LabVIEW doesnt see this at all. I have a couple of other devices also hooked up (using similar USB connections), LabVIEW recognizes them as VISA devices while this one doesnt appear in the list. The Fluke 294 driver is installed, windows recognizes this as a USB controller device, but I couldnt get it to connect to LabVIEW.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Vijay

What type of USB device does windows see it as? The only type of USB devices that MAX will recognize automatically is USBTMC devices.

Windows recognizes it as a USB Controller, it is listed in the same list as that of USB root hub.

Then there is something wrong with the driver if it supposed to be a USBTMC device. I think this is a problem that needs to be resolved by Fluke.

p.s The driver you installed - this is not the instrument driver is it? It should have an inf file that gets installed.

It is infact the instrument driver. The driver had an .inf file and i was able to install the instrument. I can connect the instrument through a program given by fluke, however, i want to connect it using LabVIEW

As I said, the instrument should appear to windows as a USBTMC device in order to be detected by MAX and VISA. I still think it is an issue you need to resolve with Fluke and verify whether the driver is truly for a USBTMC type device.
