How to reset the GPIB ENET BOX.

To whom that is concern.

We know how to setup the IP address for the GPIB ENET Box (version C on firmware.) but the assignment for IP address is not successfully. So the GPIB ENET box is bad? (malfunction) or the GPIB ENET Box have been block.

Do we need unblock the Box or reset to the manufacture default setup (but We do not how -  we need help!!!)

The GPIB Box seem as look fine but we can not know the IP address (or host name) and we can not use the Box.

we need to solve this problem to run the Test Station.

Hi T.John,

Can you please let me know which GPIB ENET device you're using and what OS you have?

It looks like you can use the configuration reset switch located beside the ENET connector on the rear panel. You can walk through the steps of resetting the default network characteristics at startup by looking at the GPIB Hardware Installation Guide and Specifications.

Hope this helps!

but we can not assign the address with different the subset (EX: 120.2.1.0). Please help!!!.

Hi T.John,

I did some searching and can't seem to find any documentation on that device since it is an older product that has been set to end-of-life. What is your application? Have you considered upgrading to a newer device that would offer more functionality and documentation?

If you have the original manual for the device, it should have a section iterating how to reassign the IP address. I would assume it would involve going into NI MAX and changing it manually. However, I don't know if that device was supported in NI MAX, since I'm not sure if that software was available in 1996.

Hi!  ZoWithTheFlow,

I thinks the GPIB Box can not assign the IP address anymore -

but I am not sure !!!.

I think we do not need the NI MAX to assign for IP address.

I just want to know why the Box can assign for IP address 192.168.25.* but can not for 120.2.1.0.

it don't make sense to me. and I am confuse to using the GPIB Box for our testing.

thanks for your help!   ZoWithTheFlow

Hello T. John,

I found a few older documents that you may want to take a look at. They are archived since they are for obsolete products, but they may help you in this circumstance.

Assigning IP Address to GPIB-ENET on Windows NT

Assigning IP Address to GPIB-ENET under Windows 97/98

Look over these documents as they might help you.
