Welcome to the forums. The SCXI-1531 is an analog input module and you will therefore not be able to output or generate a voltage with this card. Do you already have an SCXI system? An SCXI chassis perhaps or another SCXI analog output card that we could work with? Even if you have other output cards that do not have the BNC connectors, there are conversion cables that you could then use to connect to the input of the scope.
If you already have an analog output card, you can use the DAQmx example programs in LabVIEW to generate your voltage. In LabVIEW, there are a number of great examples programs already available that ship with the software environment. There are examples of voltage generation and also other types of hardware input and output. I would suggest looking through a few of these to see if they meet your desired functionality. They can also be easily modified to address any concerns or specific requirements your application has.
You can find these examples by navigating in LabVIEW to the Help Menu>> Find Examples>> expanding the Hardware Input and Output folder>>expanding the DAQmx folder>> expanding the Analog Generation Folder>> and then looking in the Voltage file. When you click on an example VI, a brief description will appear in the Information box to the right of the Example Finder.
These examples build a waveform and then output that waveform. You can then cable the output to the input of a scope for it to be displayed. However, you can also see the waveform that you are generating using software- both in LabVIEW and in the Measurement and Automation Explorer.
So, the questions are:
1. Do you already have any hardware other than your scope that you are interested in working with?
2. If not, are you interested in purchasing a DAQ card, and if so, then what formfactor (SCXI, PXI, PCI, USB, etc) would be best for your application/lab?
