IVI Class Drivers: Calibrators

Is there an effort to develop a Class Driver for Calibrators? If so, any idea when the first release might be?

There is not an imediate design for adding calibrator classes just yet. The foundation is preparing to work on Spectrum Analyzer, RF Signal Generator, Power Meter, and Digital I/O classes. You can always verify what classes are being developed from the IVIFoundation website (http://ivifoundation.org).

I have had success modeling a calibrator as a combination of a DC power supply, RF signal generator, function generator, DMM (if applicable) and a switch (if applicable) (one massive IVI driver that compies with all the above classes and provides cross communication between the individual drivers to prevent trying to use both the DC and FG at the same time). There are so few different calibrators that the interchange capability won't give you much benefit, but being able to switch between a calibrator and discrete components was worth the effort on our part.
