Installation of Control Panel GPIB Configuration Utility

I have VXI station that uses a windows 95 OS PC as its controller.  Recently an old EISA GPIB board failed.  I installed a new board and new GPIB drivers version 1.6.

One of the applications requires the GPIB Configuration utility from version 1.1 (1.2?) that resides in the control panel.

I either need version 1.1 or a way to reinstall the configuration utility in the control panel.

Thanks.

Hey maldrich,

Unfortunately there is not a seperate installer for the GPIB Configuration utility.  It is included with the 488.2 driver.   Therefore the configuration utility cannot be seperately reinstalled.

Hey maldrich,

Just out of curiousity, what is the reason why you need  NI-488.2  version 1.1 and not a newer version?  Is there something specific in 1.1 that you need?

Jason,

I did find and install version 1.6 again.  The technician, who wrote the test software, wasn't specific enough in his request.  He needed to use the Config utility to change the name of a networked power supply.

After some research (and a clearer definition of the problem), I was able to direct him to use the windows device manager to bring up the Config utility table and make the required changes to be compatible with his software's GPIB callouts.

Hey maldrich,

Thanks for providing that information!  I just wanted to make sure 1.6 provided you with what you needed.  I'm glad you are now up and running.

Good luck with the rest of your project!
