Hi,
I've seen some posts stating that it is possible to run the PCI-GPIB card on Ubuntu, but am confused on how to proceed with the software installation. Can someone help me out?
Cheers!

What I did was search on National Instruments' Drivers and Updates page for the NI-488.2 driver, for Linux--the PCI-GPIB uses the NI-488.2 driver. I found the driver page for the NI-488.2 v2.5 for Linux, which provides a Readme.txt link. In the Readme, there is a section called System Requirements. In this section, the supported Linux versions are as follows:
Mandriva Linux 2008 or Mandriva Linux 2009
SUSE Linux 10.3
Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 5
Unfortunately, Ubuntu is not supported. Maybe someone here on the forums has experience with Ubuntu and the PCI-GPIB, and can offer you some assistance. I just wanted to let you know what you can expect with support for Linux. Also, you might want to consider joining the Linux Users Community. This would be a great resource for Linux support and updates.
Cheers!

You might try the Linux Users Community. Like I mentioned before, it is a great resource. For instance, I went there and did a tag search for Ubuntu. I think they discuss exactly what you want to do. More importantly, it looks like a user made a specific tutorial in the community:
How to Install GPIB driver NI-488.2 on Ubuntu 7.10
Cheers!
