Keithley 2400 Problems

Solved!

Don't touch the powerswitch....

But seriously with this amount of information we only can give pure solutions.

Why is the machine switced off. Is the power switched off, or a program stops running, or output disabled?

I have to touch the power switch to turn it on again, each time. The power cord and connections are correct. its not the power output or display, its complete  machine switch off when the power button is ON.

There should be no way that an instrument can be shut off with software. Something else is going wrong in your system. We really need more information on your complete setup. A schematic would be nice.

Just noticed you are working with solar. Are panels providing the power for the instrument?

Solar panel electrodes are connected to the INPUT/OUTPUT  of the Keithley instrument. So photoelectric current is measured against the applied potential. Also this instrument is connected to the PC using interface cable (HP 10833C) with the software LABVEIW. I am uploading few pictures of the soft as well as hardware.

Thank You for the support

Those pictures don't help at all. The power to the meter cannot be switched by your program so if the meter is truly shutting off, there is some problems with the instrument's power connection. Please confirm that the instrument is actually going dark and not just locked up where you cycle power to reset it.

Its not just getting dark, it's completely turning off. Power cords and connections we have chekced and has no problem. Also it doesnt behave in a consistent manner. sometimes turing off is more often and sometimes less.

There is a problem with the instrument that has nothing to do with LabVIEW or any NI hardware or software. You should be in contact with Keithley.

Longshot-

Is the 2400 exposed to the sunlight? If so, any chance it could be overheating and powering itself down via a thermal protection switch?
