In LabVIEW  are  there a set of VI's to start and stop NI-SPY data captures?

I want to collect GPIB data at certain points in the VI execution.

I think the only way to start NI-Spy is to use the System Exec command. Just curious, but are you try to write a GPIB bus monitor program?

Hi

I am using the N-SPy GUI to cpature the GPIB transactions. I just want to control the points where it starts and stops so I don't have to weed through the volumes of data that it porduces. I have specific IVI VI's that I want to see what is being sent to the GPIB contorller.

Can you elaborate on the System Exec stuff. I'm not familiar with this. Is this a VI?

System Exec is a a function on the communication palette. It is used to execute a system command like running an exe.
