Hello,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments. I did some searching to try to find an instrument driver for that instrument, and so far I have been unable to find one. I did however contact the Instrument Manufacturer for the instrument, Thermo Inc., to see if they had an instrument driver for the instrument in LabVIEW. Unfortunately, they do not have one, but I did speak with a gentleman there named Scott Pratt, who said you could contact him to get an Advanced Protocol Manual for the RTE-111 that would help you to communicate with the instrument. You can reach Scott Pratt at 1-800-258-0830, option 2, and then ask for Scott Pratt at extension 2297.

Also, I wanted to offer a few suggestions for possible reasons you might be receiving the timeou
t error in your current communication. Take a look at the following Knowledgebase that is a really good starting point for Serial Communication in LabVIEW. One thing that will probably be very beneficial to you is the common problems section that describes many common issues that are encountered, one of the most common being incorrect termination characters.

Hope this helps! Good luck with your application.

Regards,

Steven B.
