Looking for GPIB chip equivalent to Fairchild 96LS488

Hi guys:

We have an old custom-made instrument that uses a Fairchild 96LS488 chip for GPIB computer control. We are trying to make an even simpler instrument with a similar procedure. Is it there a more recent equivalnet to that obsolete Fairchild 96LS488 chip?

I would like to know if the NAT9914 could be an alternative. Nothing related to microprocessors, just plain old TTL and discrete components to interconnect in our case.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What's the TLL for? Would some of the GPIB boards that ICS Electronics makes work for you? They basically allow you to turn your equipment into a GPIB-capable instrument.

mmm.. This can be another alternative if the instrument components do not interfere with the card's placement. I think that there is still some space, it's a big box.

Thanks for the link! 🙂
