MAX on several computers is taking several minutes to load

Today, Monday 5th May

NiMAX was working fine last Thursday. Now it takes several minutes to load and when you click on devices it again takes a while and eventually comes up with a message saying that it could not connect to the database and you should restart. It also says if the problem persists contact NI. The problem is indeed persisting 😞

Hi AJG,

It sounds like your Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) database folder has become corrupted. The Knowledge Base Document ID 42HG08DD: Why Do I Get a Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) Database Connection Error? discusses what might have caused this and how to fix it. If none of the suggestions in that link work, I would follow the steps in the Knowledge Base Document ID 4GA9TOQA: What is the Process For Removing MAX Database Corruption? This should take care of the problem you are seeing.

Thanks for the advice. I tried the suggestions on the links but to no avail. In the end I removed all NI software and reinstalled all of it. In fact this is the third computer I have had to do this to. It may be related to a recent network change affecting our gpib ethernet converters.

Thanks

Tony
