MAX reports error on scanning

I was able to move the Coherent Power Meter to my USB network and get it off the GPIB network.  So if I can re-write software to point the new address, I should be fine.

Sorry for the late reply, but your spy captures show exactly the same thing happening until line 3.  When asserting IFC (using ibsic), you can see that the return status does not have CIC (controller in charge) as true in the failure capture.  The passing capture correctly shows CIC is true in ibsta.

This is backed up by the fact that you get the ECIC error when using interactive control.  Out of curiosity, which command received this error?

Does one of these instruments have controller capability?  It could be possible that one of these is set to system controller which is causing problems in your setup.

I know that you have moved one of the offending instruments to USB, but I thought you may want another possible solution.

The Textronix TDS scopes all have contontroller capability

I have added the GPIB-120B at the end of the GPIB daisy chain with the Coherent meter all by itself on one end and all my other instruments on the other.

Now when I scan for instruments, MAX reports "To many Listeners".
