MAXVISATIMEOUTERROR - and PWR_RDY Lamp darker than LNK Lamp

Hi,

I am using a NI GPIB ENET 100.

When turning it on (without any Ethernet or GPIB Connection) it first stark flashing well I would say orange and yellow. Than it stays the darker color. ( If the LNK Lamp is yellow, I would say, that one is orange, because the other lamps seem to be a lot redder, when flashing shortly.... it sounds funny, but I don't know how to describe it otherwise).

Well when trying to configure it with the NI488-2 configuration wizard (driver version 2.7.1I can find the Box, but not always. Now after restarting my computer, I can still find the box (Pinging it works and also finding it via the Driver wizard) but cannot find or communicate in any way with the GPIB Hardware.

I tried to use another hardware, but the same problem exists. I cant even start configuring the hardware. It worked fine earlier this morning, and I could even acquire some data).

When trying to open the hardware via MAX(version 4.6), it seems that first the hardware was found, but when I click onto it, I get the error with MAXVISATIMEOUT and something about the VISA PlugIn.

What do I have to do now? Is something wrong with my Software (because of the VISA PlugIn) Can I make another test with the hardware as to rule something out

Please help 🙂

Thank you very much.

Miriam

Are you sure it is not a cable issue?

hey, thats what I thought, too. But somehow after configuring the GPIBenet device from the beginning (setting IPs new and all) with whole new, different hardware, it worked fine (same cable).

My colleague and me think it is maybe a hardware issue, because the one we try to communicate with, is a little older, and doesn't communicate with standard commands (?idn doesn't work properly for example), you probably need to be lucky to configure it.  Maybe we can get a new one, soon 😉

Thank you anyway!
