MKS MF1 USB Contol

Hi,

I have been trying to communicate with an MKS MF1 MFC through the USB port. I've already successfully created and installed the USB driver via the VISA driver wizard. However, whenever I am trying to communicate with the device, all I get back are teh characters  '.  which i think is pretty strange. Any idea why this might be happening ?

Since you aren't using any NI product, you need to contact that instrument's manufacturer.

Of course I am... Eventually I will try to integrate it into labview. Since I was not able to find any specific labview drivers for this device, I just wanted to see if anyone might have an idea why this is happening. They device is operating in the raw USB mode

First, you have to verify that USB RAW is the correct protocol. Often, using the VISA driver wizard is a huge mistake. You, in effect, eliminate the driver that is provided by the vendor. Where did you get the idea to use the wizard? Second, if it does require USB RAW, the only place you will get the information to read/write and how to read/write is from the vendor, as already mentioned. This is very low level information and is often not in any manual.

Speaking of manuals, do you have the manual (or a link) that you can attach?
