Mac OS 10.6 Support for LabView Full + GPIB-USB-HS?

I've been reading through the NI support documents and they're -- almost universally -- either somewhat or woefully out of date with respect to the Mac.

I'm trying to get a definitive answer on the viability of using LabView with the GPIB-USB-HS controller under Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). It appears that it's not technically supported (yet), but may actually work in practice.

If I order a GPIB-USB-HS controller with the Mac driver and I find it really isn't compatible with the Mac, can I simply download the Windows driver for it and start using it under Windows instead? (Or vice versa -- order it with the Windows driver, and then simply download the Mac driver and try it under the Mac to see if it works?)

I have a Mac Pro with 10.6.2 available, and I'd really, really hate to go back to Windows if I don't have to, much less spend money to purchase an entirely new Windows machine.

Can anyone give me any insight into this?

Hello Warling,

I have not tried to use this device on Snow Leopard.  If you do get it and find that it does not work, you can download the Windows driver and run it on a Windows system.  If you use Windows on your Mac, you will have to completely boot into Windows to use your device.  A virtual machine will not work.

To help drive the development for Mac here at NI, you can do a few things.  1. Visit here and click on the link shown in the image below to directly give your feedback. 2. Join the Mac User Community group and share your voice on the thread discussing what you find limiting about NI's development for a Mac.  I hope this helps!
