NI-488.2 Runtime 17.0.0 download fails

Whenever I try to download NI-488.2 Runtime 17.0.0 (target computer: Windows 7 64 bit), the download always fails at the very end. I've tried MSIE (version 11), Firefox (version 57) and Chrome (version 63) with no success. Firefox and Chrome say it's a network error, whereas at the end of the download MSIE hints that it may be a spam/phish link or other unsafe file. In the past, NI used to manage it's downloads with a downloader stub, but now it wants to download the entire 680 MB file in one huge chunk. Is there an alternate download link?

Hi Scott,

You mentioned that the install file you downloaded is 680 MB, but the install file for the NI-488.2 Runtime 17.0.0 is only 130 MB.

Please try force-reinstalling the software and post your result here.

You can also try disabling antivirus & firewalls, as well as running the installer as an administrator.

The download link at http://www.ni.com/download/ni-488.2-17.0/6627/en/ says it's a 679.87 MB file size.

That appears to be the full version of the NI-488.2 (679 MB), not the Runtime-only version (130 MB), which from your title is what I thought you were trying to install.

Just so we're on the same page, which of those two are you trying to install?

Please let us know the result of the force-reinstall so we can cross that off the list of things to try.

It was the full version I was attempting to download. I was never able to complete the download, and no file ever got saved to my computer, so I have nothing to try to force-reinstall with. (I did not find a link to the Runtime-only version, only a link to the full version.)

Gotcha. Please try the link to the Runtime-only version (130 MB) I linked in my initial response, and report back if that install fails, too.

Thank you for providing the link for the Runtime download. 

The link is no longer valid and only links to the full download now. 

Do you have a more current link that we can use, or do we have to contact customer service for the download?

Are there other downloads that install the runtime?

This link only allows downloads of version 17.6 and greater. Is there a link for the 17.0 version?
