NI MAX Bus Monitor-% used ?

Hermen,

Did the Busload field disappear? Or is it still there, but is not reporting a valid value? What sort of changes happened when it stopped working? Did you install new software? Uninstall software? Is this the same CAN interface as was working before?

Hello,

The Field itself is still there, I see a small change in the numeric field of the busload when I start busmonitoring, it looks like a small "-" in front of the "0%" ... See images attached. I do not know excactly when the problem started, but re-installing the complete MAX software did NOT solve the problem.

Hermen,

Bus monitor is actually part of NI-CAN driver. Go ahead and try the latest version of NI-CAN. That is version 2.7.2. You can download it from ni.com/drivers and search for NI-CAN.

Hello,

I re-installed the NI-CAN driver software version 2.6.2, this did not help.

Afterwards I installed version 2.7.2, but still the same problem.

Then I asked a collegue to use his NI PCMCIA-CAN/2 series2 card and then the problem was gone...

Via Port properties I checked all the settings, but did not find any differences, so it seems to be a hardware problem in the PCMCIA card.

We as DAF trucks N.V. have a contract with NI so I will call the service desk for what to do next...

When tere is still something to try. please let me know.

Are you still receiving data on the bus? Was the busload ever working with your PCMCIA Series 1 device?

Hello,

Yes, I am still receiving data on the bus and it is also displayed in the busmonitor field, only the bus-load percentage-field and the busload-barograph fail to respond as displayen in the peviously attached images.

PS the PCMCIA card that I am using is a "NI PCMCIA-CAN/2 Series 2"-card

Greetings Hermen

So you had borrowed an identical card from someone and that did work? It sounds like there might be something wrong with the device. It may require an RMA of the device to fix.
