NI-MAX - configuration server error - could not find list of Instrument Driver Software Modules

Hello,

since some Windows 2000 software updates I get the following error in NI-MAX when I click on IVI Drivers - Advanced - Instrument Driver Software Modules:

configuration server error - MAX could not find list of Instrument Driver Software Modules.

IVI steps for example out of Teststand don't work no more.

I reinstalled the whole driver libraries and MAX (4.6.2) but unfortunately it didn't help.

Hi Oliver,

you say, you've installed "all driver libraries". do you have the actual drivers?

You will find the actual ones under:

Please be sure, that you have the actual driver packages

Hi and thanks for your reply,

I think I got the latest that work with Windows 2000. It was the DAQ DVD from Q3 2010.

In the meantime the Teststand IVI Steps work again (PowerSupply and FunctionGenerator) after a reinstall of the two device drivers. The drivers worked for the last six years on that machine. But MAX still has the same error message as written above.

I don't worry to much about the MAX error, as the rest of the system is working. But just for the curiosity of it I'd like to know the possible reasons for it. So if there are any ideas please let me know.

This error might occure when you have removed parts of the NI software not correctly or there are any registry-entries making trouble.
