NI-Serial Installation Failure

I'm trying to insall NI-Serial drivers onto my computer and it keeps failing. I've tried the original CD Ver 3.2 and the downloaded the latest. The error message "cannot install NI-Serial 3.X" pops up.  I had had this installed earlier,with no problems but a hard drive crash is forcing the re-install. I'm running Windows XP and a bunch of MacAfee protection software. I also have CVI 2010 installed

I'm sorry you're having this problem while reinstalling NI-Serial.  Since your hard drive crashed, did any other NI products need to be reinstalled?  If so, were those successful?  Did you have to reinstall NI MAX or NI-VISA, and are those working currently?  Thanks for any info you can provide
