Hi,
This is something i find it rather curious. I have installed LabView 2009 under XP. The device driver CD includes NI-VISA 4.5.1 so i also installed them.
However, and here is the strange matter, in ni.com it says that NI-VISA 4.5 does not support LabView 2009 (http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/visa/NI-VISA/4.5/Windows/readme.html )
The fact is that i didn't find any difficulties with using VISA library to communicate with my instrument in Labview but i couldn't open VISA TEST PANEL in MAX.
So it works but fifty-fifty?

Can't really explain why there's a version of VISA on the device driver disc that doesn't support the version of LabVIEW that came with that. You should install a version of VISA that's compatible with LabVIEW 2009. The first version to do that would be 8.6, but you're better off installing the latest version.

Hi,
It seems that it was a problem of distribution.
Anyway, thanks for you answer. I will try to install latest version as you said.
