NO VISA resources found using MAX but VISA Interactive Control OK

Hi,

I am using Agilent USB 82357A GPIB and using MAX to find the device

under the Configuration -> Devices and Interface. But it shows

"NO VISA resources found".

But when I used the VISA Interactive Control in the MAX , I can find the device.

Does anyone know why ?

Hi Darren,

Do you see an error message that says "No VISA resources found" or do you just not see it in MAX? Do you see the same behavior if you try this KnowledgeBase?

I am having the same problem as above. I am trying to use NI MAX to connect with a Tektronix TDS3012 scope via GPIB. I cannot see any GPIB resources in MAX, and when I try to search for VISA resources I get none. I can talk to and get information from the scope using the Interactive Control, though Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

You're using an agilent GPIB controller? Have you installed NI-VISA as primary? Have you enabled tulip support? There are also instructions from agilent on using their hardware with NI software.

I am having a similar issue. I can interface those IO devices through LabVIEW. But in MAX--Remote system, it shows up as no visa resources found with error code-'0xBFFF0011'.

Does anyone know why is that?

But I am not using an agilent device. I have a compact cRIO chassis with several digital and analog channels. Through LabVIEW add devices and targets, I can interface those channels. It is just werid that MAX shows that no VISA resources found.

Hi i also have this problem, 

I'm using Adlink 3488A GPIB to usb. 

the utility from Adlik shows the keithley sourcemeter connected. 

VISA interactive control also shows it and is able to communicate. 

but i don't see any GPIB /USB whatsoever in my devices and interface on main window of MAX. 

I've chked tulip option and other as well but doesn't help also i installed NI 488 14th version. 

could you help in what i might be doing wrong..
