Non-System Controller at power up

Is there a way to store the GPIB configuration in hardware? I am emulating a GPIB instrument that does NOT need any system controller capability. I understand this is possible with software. However, I am concerned about the GPIB bus errors that occur because the device defaults to a system controller (since we already have a controller in place) until the software has a chance to reconfigure the device.

Change the defaults in MAX.

I'm wondering if this feature is supported on my board and MAX version (PCI-GPIB and MAX 3.02). See attached screenshot - I don't see any option for defaults, load or save.

I'm been using NI GPIB boards for a very long time and the ability to disable it as a system controller has always been there.

My version of MAX and probably NI-488.2 is quite a bit newer. You can upgrade. I'm also curious about what happens if you highlight the PCI-GPIB in the right side window and click on the Properties button at the top.
