PCI GPIB card not working with Windows 7 computer

What driver wizard are you trying to use? Surely not the VISA wizard. That would make no sense. You need to install NI-488.2 as a minimum and then NI-VISA.

We are in the process of updating our Compact and Dell Win98 test systems to Dell Win7. One system requires GPIB. Has anyone gotten their Win7 machines to work with either of the PCI GPIB cards? I know the full size PCI cards work with WinXP.

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem.

The point is that the problem occurs with a USB-GPIB-HS and HS+ device.

It is a random issue.

As soon as I have the error message, I have to unplug the USB cable and plug it one more time.

Can you help, please?

I have several customers with that system.

On some customers, it is critical as it occurs each time.

System : Windows 7 -64 bits.

GPIB driver.

It occurs with several : V16, V17 and surely others.

Are you sure it is the same problem?

A usb interface can have an automatic powerdown that seems as if the interface is not available anymore.

So at least check your usb power settings in win7

Yes. It could be.

Unfortunately it isn't. I checked.

We have a custom software. We launched it and close it.

On some customer wa cannot open it any more. There is the error - DEV2 Error = 0.

Consequently, i open NIMAX and in Devices and interfaces, I push on the button "Actualize" and "Re-initialize".

I have here the error message something like "An GPIB hardware error occured -37052"
