PCMCIA-GPIB Driver support for windows 7 in xp mode

Hi,

I am about to purchase a Dell Latitude E5420 since it has an optional PC card (PCMCIA) slot which will take our old GPIB card.

I've checked the NI compatibility chart and can see that Windows 7 is not supported.

Does anyone know if there is an issue loading XP on to this laptop and using the old GPIB card in the PC card slot, or even using Windows 7 in XP mode ?

Many thanks.

1. Can we use this PCMCIA-GPIB+ and driver in Win7 OS 16-bit system?

2. Is it 16-bit PCMCIA interface or 32-bit?

3. Is there any express interface for GPIB+ card?

Thanks for your reply.

Hi,

Thanks for your enquiry. For future posts, it is helpful if you can start a new message thread if you have a new question instead of replying to an old one.

The PCMCIA-GPIB+ is not supported at all for Windows 7 or Vista. It is intended for use with 32 bit operating systems.

Drivers are available which will work on Windows XP/2000/Me/9x/NT/3.1, Mac OS 9, and DOS.

I'm not sure what you meant by question 3, but we do have GPIB+ cards for PCI and PCIe. We also have an ExpressCard GPIB option, this doesn't have the analyzer part though.

Please have a look at the links, if this hasn't fully answered your questions, then please get back to me.
