hello,

I've got a big problem with the rs-232 connexion.
I would like to remote a telescope with my laptop. Like it has no serial port input, I use an adaptator prolific usb-serial to make the connexion.
All is ok MAX recognize the connexion on COM9 for example and say me that the device work properly but when I try to run my small program to remote the telescope, nothing appen and no message of error appear so I go back in MAX and that time he said me that the resource is valid but VISA cannot currently access  it.

Is it because of the adaptator?
I really don't see where the problem could be

That error usually happens when you have another program using the serial port at the same time.

Thanks for the answer but which kind of program can use the serial port ( in fact the usb port because I use an adaptator) in a same time knowing that I close all the others before running labview. I hear that programm for handbook like active sync could create problems and I uninstall them.

Could it come from program like hyperterminal?

If you have hyperterminal open, it could be the one.
If you closed hyperterminal it is something else.
