Problem with Replacement of NI gpib to Agilent gpib

Need help.  I have an NI gpib card running on NI 488.2 software and I tried replacing the same slot with Agilent 82350A gpib card without any change in the configurations or whatever but this doesn't work.  What changes do I also need to do to use the Agilent gpib?  Will still be using NI gpib card but was obliged to also avtivate my agilent gpib card as spare.

If your software controls GPIB instruments through NI-488.2M API, there is no software compatibility between NI and Agilent GPIB hardware.  It is also true for Agilent SICL API.  To avoid this problem, your software should use VISA API, that is transparently compatible on both GPIB hardware.
