Thanks i found a VISA example.

Another quick query.

i need to monitor continiuosly all the 4 COM ports of the instrument.

if i do a multitreading(4 threads) for each receive, will it cause any problem?

You shouldn't have any problems. I normally use LabVIEW and have had twice as many com ports running in parallel. I'm a bit rusty on CVI and multithreading so perhaps you should post to the CVI board for specifics.

does the each 4 port in the card has a seprate FIFO for them?
