Hi,

For PCI-GPIB boards the following steps may help to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

1. Confirm that the GPIB cable is not connected to any GPIB device. If it is connected to the GPIB device, disconnect the cable and run the Troubleshooting Wizard.

2. Install the latest version of the NI-488.2 hardware driver. The driver must be installed before hardware is inserted into the computer.

Current GPIB Driver link:
http://ni.com/support/gpib/versions.htm

For the correct GPIB hardware installation procedure, follow the link below to the Hardware Installation Wizard. After correctly install the latest driver, run the Troubleshooting Wizard.

Hardware Installation Link:
http://www.ni.com/support/install/

4. If you have another PCI slot available in your desktop, move the PCI board to that slot. After moving your GPIB device, run the Troubleshooting Wizard.

5. For Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP, go to My ComputerControl PanelSystem. Click on the Hardware tab and then the Device Manager button. Verify in Device Manager that the GPIB hardware has been detected by the computer. Right-click on the GPIB device and choose Properties to verify that the hardware has been installed correctly. Click on the Resources tab to see if there are possible resource conflicts. Your device may have an interrupt (IRQ) conflict with another device. For information on how to resolve IRQ conflicts with third-party devices, refer to the following websites:

After any resource conflicts have been resolved, run the Troubleshooting Wizard.

TWG has posted very thorough suggestions for PCI-GPIB, but the original question shows a screenshot for NEC-GPIB/TNT and GPIB-PCII. Since PCI-GPIB is a plug-and-play board, but these two are not, many of those links above will not necessarily apply.

As confirmed in the Current GPIB Driver Versions page, NI-488.2 version 1.7 is the latest version for these. The Hardware Installation Link is a good place to look if you choose the Jumpered option for the GPIB bus. Another good resource is the GPIB Hardware Guide

http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/E9352D586EE282AC86256CFD0056C87F?OpenDocument&node=132090_US

which has sections describing how to install each of these 2 pieces of hardware.
