Putting 3rd party instrument drivers into right directory

I am trying to use Aeroflex drivers that I downloaded from thier web site. I tried to just extract the zipped file into the instr.llb folder under Aeroflex ifr3901 subfolder but when I look for it in Labview under Instrument I/O, Instr Drivers, I see the folder but it is empty. Is there further unzipping I need to do?

There is a handly little tool called Windows Explorer. You can actually use this to see the contents of a folder. On the windows desktop, right clcik on My Computer and select 'Explore'.

I can see the files I extracted, they are there but there is no .llb file in the folder.

Apparently I need the .llb file for Labview to see the drivers

I can't see your image. How did you insert it into the post? You can click the 'Upload Image' icon on the toolbar, browse to the image, and then click 'Insert'. Otherwise, select the 'Add Attachments' below the message body.

What kind of files do you see? A driver could be an llb, a project, a number of VIs, etc. If they are VIs, you can manually add them to your palette.

I don't see any of those files, I'm going to try and download the file from thier website once again just in case it got corrupted.

That's not a LabVIEW driver. That's a LabWindows/CVI driver. Big, big difference. There is a tool to import a CVI driver into LabVIEW but it needs the CVI source code built into a dll. The dll is not there so you would need a copy of CVI to create it.

Yep, that's what I did. I loaded the cvi drivers instead of the labview drivers. I just went there and downloaded the Labview drivers this time.

Thanks
