Question about a lone listener configuration.

Hi,
I am designing a kind of a server (instrument) application which uses a NI gpib board in win nt environment I wish to start up the device in such a way that it is not connected to any gpib line. I just wish to configure my gpib card in my PC so that it is a listener. How can I do that? Whatever have I tried, seems to give me back an answer: No listeners (error code). I feel that this means every command or a message goes to the outer (suggested gpib) line which does not exist. But there surely should be away to configure a lone card for a listener.

I went to www.ni.com and searched "+non-controller +gpib" and got several pages about this. The one titled "Computer to Computer Communication via the GPIB" is a good place to start.

The National Instruments' Developer Zone (http://zone.ni.com) is another great source of information. Searching for the same string should provide decent results.
