RS485 cable guide request.

I want to connect my PC to a SCXI 2000 chassis with RS485, but I don't know how to prepare a cable for the connection.

As a mechanical engineer, I don't know much about cabling. It would be great if there is a comprehensive cable preparation, installation and connection guide for RS485.

I hope it is not difficult to prepare the cable myself.

Hi Rogchan,

The best option would be to purchase a cable since they will be guaranteed to work and will be packaged nicely. If you want to create your own, it should not be difficult. You will need the proper connectors, and the wire. I am not aware of any "comprehensive cable" guide, but I can offer you some information:
