Run NI SPY in background

I am using NI Spy (instantiated programmatically via LabVIEW) to collect all messages passed to an external instrument which seems to be working OK.  The problem I am having is with using "Launch Spy.vi" to open NI Spy with the option to run the application in "hidden" mode ( /hidden in command line) still shows the NI Spy splash screen and well an NI Spy instance in my taskbar.  I there a way to run this application completely in the background or at the very least, not show the splash screen?

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to get around this right now. Our R&D team already has a Corrective Action Request (#184195) filed for this behavior.
