I am trying to find out the sweep time for a marconi 2023 signal generator using the drivers available at the NI website.I use labview 6.1 and windows 2000.The start freq is 10MHZ and stop freq is 235 MHZ with a 25 MHZ step size and 50 ms delay for each step.I have a sequence of tickcount, run sweep and another tickcount after initializing and configuring the instrument.But I notice that the program is finished running even while the instrument is setting the values specified.This makes me feel that the time(difference between two tick counts) is not a correct measure of the time taken to run the sweeping of carrier freq. for this instrument.Is this because of the settling time taken by the instrument, or got to do anything with
the way windows works? I request help/suggestions from everyone who has faced a problem similar to this.
