Tektronix TDS 3014B Oscilloscope Record Length

When I tell the oscilloscope how many points of data take, it works sometimes, for example using 500, 6000, or 10000 points is fine. For other record lengths like 2000 or 2500 the oscilloscope has nothing on its screen and I do not know why nor do I see a pattern. If anyone else knows how this works, please let me know!

In case anyone was wondering, it turns out that this oscilloscope has a 500 or 10,000 data point mode. If you choose 10,000 and try to take less, it will just cut off the remaining data points. If you try to take more, you will get back blank data. I don't know why some of my number choices didn't just cut data off, but any way, 500 or 10,000 never causes an error so I should be ok.
