Do NOT start a new thread! Respond to the original.

A query interupted usually means what it says. You start a query and send a command to the instrument at the same time (or before the instrument has a chance to completely reespond). You did not attach your program. You only attached some image (and why would you create a pdf of it?). If you are doing something else in parallel, don't. You would also want to give the instrument time to finish resetting. Try doing just the read in MAX and seeing if it works.
