The VISTA software for the GPIB-USB-HS seems to be missing a driver

I downloaded the VISTA compatible software for the GPIB-USB-HS but the software seems to be missing a driver or something. How do I get this to work and recognize the attached GPIB cable?

Hey George,

Try uninstalling the current driver. Then install this driver. This should then let you use the GPIB-USB-HS with Windows Vista.

I had this same issue, which your links did not resolve. I recently bought a Dell with Vista and I want to install my GPIB-USB-HS. I first had the issue with unsupported software, so i uninstalled everything, and used the removal tool. After installing the 488.2 v2.5, I plugged in my GPIB-USB-HS. Vista did not locate the driver, and because I do not have a disk, I pointed to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-488.2. This did not provide Vista with the driver. Any ideas? Also, after using the removal tool, the old directories remain in the NI folder. thanks for any help! -B

Hello Brad2thebone:

Have you tried removing the old directories? When Windows looks for the driver, does it always prompt you for the cd?

So I uninstalled all the NI software and removed the directories and I was able to install the GPIB-USB-HS driver. Now I have to setup labview... :|
