I am not able to see the instrument in the measurement & automation. Do I have to configure the instrument in order to see them in the MAX or should they appear in the MAX and then I configure them?
How do they appear in the windows device manager? Are they listed as USB TMC (Test and Measurement Class)? Did you get a USB driver from the vendor and did you install it? Since you keep getting prompted for a driver, it would seem that there is a problem there. This driver is completely separate from the instrument driver you would download from NI.
I just took a look at the Agilent 3K scope manual. The only mention of the USB port talks about using the port to connect a mass storage device to save/recall files or to connect a printer. The programming manual only mentions the RS-232 and GPIB ports for remote control. Do you actually have some information from Agilent that the USB can be used for remote control? I have not looked at the manual for the Tek scope but the data sheet does not mention the USB port for programming either. I saw a mention of the USB port for a mouse connection. You should really contact the vendor about how the ports are supposed to be used.
