Using LabVIEW to run a GenieTouch syringe pump

Hi,

I need to run a Genie Touch Syringe Pump autonomously and was assuming I would use LabVIEW to do this, but before I make my attempt I have a few questions:  Is LabVIEW capable of cooperating with Genie Touch products? If so, how should I approach this? I am fairly new to LabVIEW, but have watched all of the tutorials multiple times and have already created VI's to control the DAQ and relay jfor the project. Now I just need to come up with a working VI for the syringe pump ASAP.  Thanks.

All I really need to do is tell the syringe pump to start or stop.  I can program the syringe volume and rate on the touch screen, so that's not an issue.  Thanks.

The best thing to do is contact the manufacturer.

Thanks. I emailed their tech support and am waiting on a reply.  Just checking the NI board to see if they might've had any experience with this pump before.  I can't imagine the VI for simply making the pump start/stop would be too complex.  I just have no idea how to approach it, I'm pretty new to LabVIEW as this project is my first experience working with it.

It shouldn't be too complex, but without knowing the documentation for the equipment, it is hard to say what is required.

Would it help if I attached the User's Guide for the pump?
